Record executive Chris Blackwell might have discovered Marley in his native Jamaica and exposed him to a massive global audience, but it was rock icons like Eric Clapton, who were singing both his praises and his songs, that helped forward Marley's popularity in America. This Marley show, recorded less than two years before his untimely death from cancer, is similar to the extended performance found on 1978's Babylon by Bus double live album. Marley lived for the stage, and this show is ample proof that he was one of the most electrifying performers ever to emerge from the international music scene. Like another falling star from an earlier era, Jimi Hendrix, Marley shot across the pop culture landscape like a flaming comet - and before he could be fully recognized for his artistic brilliance - was gone. That's at least one reason why his legacy has elevated him to near mythical proportions. Opening with "Positive Vibration," this show contains 19 classic Marley songs, including "Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)," "I Shot The Sheriff," "No Woman No Cry," "Exodus," "Is This Love?," "Jammin'" and "Get Up Stand Up." The Wailers, though none of its original members except Marley remained by 1979, play rock solid reggae rhythms behind his impassioned vocals. Keyboardists Tyrone Downie and Earl Lindo have incredible chops, and are only outdone by longtime Wailers guitarist Al Anderson. Enhancing this stellar show is a fantastic guest performance by guitarist Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones for the six-song encore. More than a quarter century after his death, Bob Marley's popularity with outsiders and rebels, coupled with his legacy as a musical genius and status as a pop culture icon, only grows and grows with each passing year. This show is a great example of why Marley's enduring musical catalog remains one of the most exciting and influential in the history of popular recordings.

Download 10 THINGS ABOUT BOB MARLEY YOU DID NOT KNOW In Mp4 3Gp Full HD Video
10 THINGS ABOUT BOB MARLEY YOU DID NOT KNOW bodhispeak - Bob Marley is considered as one of the greatest legends in music and is still worshipped by millions. This reggae superstar captivated audiences worldwide with songs that had strong political message. Let us look into 10 facts about Bob Marley which you probably did not know. 1. Palm Reader - Bob Marley could read palms from the age of 4. And most of his readings usually came true. However, this skill of Bob Marley left his mother a little disturbed! 2. Imprisoned for 1 month - Bob Marley was imprisoned for one month on charges of possession of marijuana. He made friends with a lot of prisoners there who inspired him to write songs with a social message. 3. White Boy - Did you know that Bob Marley was known as white boy in his native Kingston. A lot of people assume Bob was black and are surprised to discover he had a white father, which led to Kingston locals nicknaming him “white boy”. His mixed raced origins, clearly visible in his facial skin, were always a sore point, though it is perhaps why Marley had such a resilient personality. 4. Too Good - Outrageous though it may seem, Marley was once sacked for being too talented and charismatic a musician. In 1973, Sly Stone invited Marley and the Wailers on a 17 date tour around the US. But Sly decided to dismiss his opening act only after four shows, since they were drawing in all the attention from crowds, leaving the headliners out in the cold. They played five shows together - two in Florida, as well as Kentucky, Colorado, and Las Vegas - where Sly left them and their luggage on the side of the road. 5. Mr. World - While Marley is revered around the globe and has officially fathered eleven children, there is another reason while Marley can be considered Mr World. He entered into a serious romantic relationship with Miss World 1976, Cindy Breakspeare, who went on to mother Grammy-award winning musician Damian Marley. 6. Soccer lover - Marley adored the beautiful game – so much so, that at his funeral the singer was buried with both a Les Paul guitar and a football. He’d play around in recording studios during downtime, and made the Jamaican international footballer Allan “Skill” Cole his tour manager. 7. Big Heart - Once he’d found success Marley became extremely generous with his money. Having grown up in a poor family in Jamaica he knew how difficult it was to get by. He decided to put his goodwill into practice by buying houses for friends and supported many of the poor in Jamaica. 8. Greatest Reggae star of all time - Bob Marley and the Wailers’s album Legend is the best-selling reggae album of all-time with over 15 million copies sold in the United States and an estimated 25 million copies sold globally. The album was ranked number 46 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. As of today it has spent a total of 348 non consecutive weeks on the Billboard album chart - the fourth longest run in history. 9. Greatest friend - Vincent Ford, Marley’s friend who ran a soup kitchen in Trenchtown, the main ghetto in Kingston, Jamaica (where they grew up together), is listed as the composer of the song, ‘No Woman, No Cry’. Marley attributed the songwriting credits to Ford, in an unprecedented act of generosity, ensuring the survival and continual running of his soup kitchen through the royalty cheques until Fords death in 2008. 10. Devout believer - Bob Marley once injured the toenail of his right big toe during a football game, and the wound had trouble healing properly. Eventually, a malignant melanoma was discovered – a dangerous type of cancer – and although doctors recommended that it be amputated, he refused on religious grounds. Marley was a devout Rastafari believer. The tumour then spread, which ultimately caused his death. So those were the 10 things about Bob Marley – the greatest reggae star!
